When you sell through AtomPay, both the domain and the buyer’s payment are fully protected until the transfer is complete — so you never have to worry about payment delays or disputes.

This article walks you through every step of the Seller Journey in AtomPay — from creating your transaction to receiving your payout.

🔹 Before You Start

Before creating your first transaction, make sure you have:

  • The domain name unlocked at your registrar

  • The agreed sale price and (optional) buyer’s contact info

  • A verified payout method in your Atom account

💡 Tip: You can create a transaction even without the buyer’s email — AtomPay will generate a secure link you can share manually.

🧾 Step-by-Step: Selling Through AtomPay

1️⃣ Start Your Transaction

  1. Go to AtomPay.

  2. Select “I’m Selling” from the dropdown menu.

  3. Enter your Domain Name (e.g., example.com).

  4. Enter your Selling Price (USD).

  5. Click Start Your Transaction.

AtomPay will create a unique transaction record and move you to the payment setup screen.

2️⃣ Set Your Payment Terms

Define how the buyer will pay and who covers the fees:

  • Payment Type: Choose between One-Time or Installments.

  • Transaction Fee Responsibility:

    • Buyer Pays 100%

    • Seller Pays 100%

    • Split Between Buyer & Seller

If you select Installments, you’ll also enter:

  • Initial Down Payment amount

  • Payment Plan Duration (in months)

Then, add the buyer’s contact info:

  • Buyer’s Email (Optional)

  • Buyer’s Phone (Optional)

AtomPay will automatically generate and send a secure agreement link once you continue.

3️⃣ Review the Transaction Summary

Before finalizing, review the Transaction Summary section carefully:

4️⃣ Purchase & Sale Agreement (PSA)

Once you confirm, AtomPay automatically generates the Purchase & Sale Agreement for both parties to review.

Both the buyer and seller can:

  • View the agreement

  • Request edits

  • Confirm the final version

Editable fields include:

  • Selling Price

  • Down Payment

  • Payment Duration

  • Fee Split %

When you save changes, you’ll see a confirmation message:

“✅ Your changes have been successfully received.”

After both parties approve, AtomPay finalizes the PSA and generates a secure payment link for the buyer.

5️⃣ Buyer Makes Payment

The buyer completes payment using one of AtomPay’s secure options:

  • Credit / Debit Card (3% processing fee applies)

  • Wire Transfer

  • ACH (U.S. only)

  • Cryptocurrency (for smaller transactions)

AtomPay holds the funds securely in escrow until the domain transfer is complete.

You’ll receive an email as soon as payment is confirmed.

6️⃣ Transfer Your Domain

Once the payment clears, both parties access the Transfer Center in their AtomPay dashboards.

For sellers:

  • Unlock the domain in your registrar account.

  • Provide the Auth Code or push the domain to AtomPay’s registrar account.

  • AtomPay verifies transfer completion.

The domain is then moved into a secure Atom registrar holding account until the buyer confirms receipt.

💡 AtomPay holds both the domain and the funds until transfer is fully verified — ensuring complete protection for both parties.

7️⃣ Get Paid

Once the buyer confirms receipt, AtomPay releases your payout to your earnings account.

Funds are sent via your chosen payout method.

🧩 Common Questions

Can I cancel a transaction after creating it?

Yes. If the buyer hasn’t made a payment yet, you can cancel or edit the transaction from your AtomPay dashboard.

What if the buyer doesn’t confirm receipt?

AtomPay verifies transfers directly with the registrar. If the transfer is complete but the buyer doesn’t confirm, AtomPay manually verifies and releases your payout.

What if the domain can’t be transferred?

If the transfer fails due to registrar restrictions or errors, AtomPay cancels the transaction and issues a full refund to the buyer.
