The Cloud Broker program provides a unique way to earn affiliate income by promoting domains to potential buyers. Participation in this program requires approval from Atom, and all Cloud Brokers must adhere to the terms outlined in this article.

Use Cases for Promoting Domains via the Cloud Broker Program

1) Leveraging Your Own Network

If you operate a website or a company offering services to startups or have connections with entrepreneurs, you can recommend relevant names from Atom's eligible inventory to potential buyers. The search feature allows you to find suitable names based on keywords, emotions, industries, and other factors. You may also offer a discounted price if the seller has enabled discounts on their portfolio.

2) Writing Blog Articles

Create thematic blog articles to help buyers discover curated lists of domains for specific use cases. For example, you could write about "50 Best Names for a Health AI Startup" or "Top 10 Name & Domain Recommendations for Your Fashion Brand." You can include logos and descriptions for the domains in your articles, but you must not publish prices, as they can change over time.

3) Outbound Marketing

If you have specific buyers in mind for domains listed in the Cloud Broker program, you may contact them, adhering to applicable laws. However, the following activities are prohibited:

  • Contacting companies that may hold trademarks on the domain names being offered for sale.

  • Violating any applicable laws, such as the CAN-SPAM Act, when reaching out to potential buyers.

4) Outside Buyer Brokers

If you are a broker working on behalf of a potential buyer, you will be able to pitch eligible domains from the Atom Marketplace, and earn the Cloud Broker commission upon successful sale.

5) Embedding Domain Listings In Your Own Marketplace

If you operate a Domain Marketplace, you can embed Cloud Broker eligible listings in your own marketplace. However, in order to display the price, you must use Atom Connect APIs in order to make sure that the price being offered is always accurate.

You also have the option to setup a White Label Marketplace and promote all Atom listings via your own website.

Terms for Cloud Brokers

To promote domains, you need to apply to become an Approved Cloud Broker. If you attempt to generate a Cloud Broker link without approval, you will be redirected to submit your application. Atom will evaluate your application based on various criteria, including your previous experience in outbound marketing, understanding of trademark issues, and your plan for promoting domains (e.g., outbound marketing, blogs).

All Cloud Brokers must strictly adhere to the Terms outlined in this article. Failure to comply with these Terms will result in immediate action.

Prohibited activities and restrictions include:

  • Directly targeting trademark holders of specific domains.

  • Making any direct or indirect references to domain prices on public-facing webpages or articles that can be indexed by search engines. For instance, you cannot use phrases like "buy XYZ.com for the lowest price" to attract clicks.

  • Publicly promoting the additional 10% discount, which is reserved for private negotiations.

  • Representing yourself as the domain owner.

Additionally, the following activities are prohibited to prevent misuse of the program:

  • False Advertising: Cloud Brokers must not use deceptive practices, including false or misleading claims about domains.

  • Spam: Violating any applicable laws, such as the CAN-SPAM Act, when reaching out to potential buyers.

  • Trademark Infringement: Cloud Brokers must not misuse Atom's trademarks, logos, or any variations thereof without explicit permission.

  • Prohibited Content: Cloud Brokers must not place Cloud Broker links on websites that contain offensive, violent, or illegal content.

  • Cookie Stuffing: Cloud Brokers are prohibited from engaging in cookie stuffing or similar techniques that set tracking cookies without the user's knowledge.

  • Traffic Quality: All traffic generated must be from legitimate sources. Traffic from bots, click farms, or any other fraudulent means is strictly prohibited.

  • Self-Referral: Cloud Brokers are not allowed to earn commissions on their own purchases.

  • Commission Reversals: Commissions may be reversed in cases of returned domains, chargebacks, or identified fraud.

  • Compliance: Cloud Brokers must comply with all applicable laws, including data protection regulations and advertising guidelines.

If multiple Cloud Brokers pitch the same domain to the same buyer, the Cloud Broker whose link is most recently clicked will receive the commission. Commissions are payable only for completed transactions once the domain is transferred to the buyer. For payment plans, commissions are paid upon full completion and transfer of the domain.

Future Opportunities

Based on your sales performance, Atom may highlight your profile and stats in Leaderboards and other sections of our website. If you prefer not to be featured in the Leaderboards, you will have the option to opt-out. In the future, sellers might be able to select specific Cloud Brokers for their domain portfolios based on the Cloud Broker's track record and overall performance.
